It can be frustrating to find that your videos don't display correctly to your audience during a Klaxoon presentation. Don't panic! This guide will help you identify and fix common issues so that your media is always visible and smooth for everyone.

1 - Check the hosting of your video

The source of your video is often the key to its proper delivery. Klaxoon manages videos in different ways depending on where they come from.

  • YouTube or Vimeo videos (embed links): If you've embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo, make sure the video isn't private or subject to playback restrictions that would prevent it from being distributed to external platforms. Check the privacy settings of the video on the original platform.

  • Videos hosted on other platforms: Klaxoon supports videos hosted on platforms compatible with integration via an iframe code. If the video is from another source, make sure that platform allows embedding and that the code provided is correct.

  • Videos uploaded directly to Klaxoon: For maximum reliability, it is recommended to upload your videos directly to Klaxoon. This ensures better compatibility and reduces issues related to external restrictions.

2 - Check your internet connection and that of the participants

An unstable or weak connection is a common cause of video playback problems.

  • Your connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection that is fast enough to stream the video. Insufficient flow can lead to stuttering or not reading for you, and therefore for the participants.

  • Participant login: Participants also need a stable internet connection to receive and play the video. If multiple participants report the same issue, it may indicate a general bandwidth issue or on their end. Ask them to verify their connection.

3 - Check your browser settings and those of the participants

Some browsers or extensions may block autoplay or media content.

  • Ad Blockers / Extensions: Ad blockers or other browser extensions (for you or your participants) can sometimes prevent videos from loading or playing. Try disabling these extensions temporarily to see if the problem persists.

  • Updating the browser: Make sure your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.) is up to date. Outdated versions may have compatibility issues with the latest video playback technologies.

  • Autoplay settings: Some browsers have settings that prevent media from playing automatically. Although Klaxoon handles this, a check can be useful if the problem is persistent for a participant.

4 - Make sure the video is inserted and visible in the presentation

Incorrect placement or inappropriate size of the video may prevent it from viewing properly.

  • Video placement: When creating your overview page, make sure that the video is not obscured by other elements (images, text) or that it does not extend beyond the visible boundaries of the page.

  • Size and format: Although Klaxoon handles many formats, a video that is too heavy or in an unusual format can be a problem. Optimize the size of your video files if you upload them directly.
