As a participant, you're trying to join an activity but you're getting stuck while authenticating SSO.

Find out in this article the reasons for this blockage and how to overcome it.

The reasons for the blockage

Blocking mobile SSO in a secure environment is often a deliberate security measure.

This restriction is implemented by your organization as part of an IT policy.

These policies can block SSO authentication for reasons such as:

  • Lack of mobile device management (MDM/EMM): The organization may require that devices accessing certain resources be managed and comply with their security policies (encryption, lock code, etc.). An unmanaged personal device may be blocked.

  • Blocking in-app browsers : SSO often involves redirecting to a web browser for entering credentials. Some policies may block or restrict the use of browsers embedded in third-party applications, forcing the use of a managed or trusted browser.

  • Geolocation or network-based restrictions : Access may be limited based on the geographic location of the device or Wi-Fi network being used.

How can this be overcome?

You have two options:

  • Contact your IT department for more information on this block and whether it can be lifted.

  • Access the shared activity from a computer that meets security requirements.
