An action-packed gamified sequence composed of several activities.

    • A Mission is a sequence of 1 to 10 steps enabling participants to explore content independently in a fun environment. Each step consists of an activity – Quiz, Survey, or Memo.

      To encourage competitiveness, a participant leaderboard appears by default but may be disabled if required.

    • In Klaxoon Home, click on NEW-shadow.png and then on button-mission.png.

      The Creation pop-up is displayed:

      Enter the name of the Mission (maximum 80 characters), add an image, and then click on create.

      Where is the image for an Activity displayed?

      Activities are displayed in Home or in a Network as an illustrated box.

      When creating them, select an image stored on your device or a photo taken on the fly. If you do not choose one, your profile photo will be used by default.

      You can then subsequently change this in Studio using the file picker (Klaxoon Storage).

      The editing screen is displayed:

      In the Settings box, choose the characteristics for your Mission and then click on save:

      • Objectives: enter a description that will be shown to participants at the start of the Mission.
      • Leaderboard: enable or disable the points counter and the general leaderboard display on participants' devices.

      In the Theme box, select the visual theme for your Mission.

      In the Storyboard box, click on the icon for an Activity, then on create a new....

      Reusing existing material

      You can also select existing activities on the add activities screen and then click on validate.

      The Activity editing screen is displayed:

      In the Step settings box, specify the characteristics you wish to apply to the step:

      • Introduction: click on add to select an existing page or create a new one to introduce the step.
      • Points (if the Leaderboard is enabled): the number of points that participants can potentially score in the step (for the Quiz, this score is split between the various questions).
      • Replay: participants can restart a completed step (and improve their score in the Quiz if the Leaderboard is enabled).
      • Required score (Quiz only): participants must achieve the specified score to move on to the next step.
      • First try bonus (Quiz only): if participants are successful in the Quiz on their first try, they get 25% additional points for the step.

      Survey

      Simply explore the Activity to score all the associated points (even if you skip some questions).

      Memo

      Simply explore the Activity to score all the associated points (even if you answer a Quiz question incorrectly).

      Quiz

      The score depends on the percentage of correct answers; a bonus of 25% may be awarded to participants who are successful on their first try.

      In order to advance in the Mission, participants may retake the Quiz if they do not achieve the required score, even if the Replay option is disabled.

      Follow the normal steps for creating a Quiz, Survey or Memo and then click on button-back.png.

      The Activity is added to the list of steps.

      How do I make changes to the list?

      On each line:

      • Drag and drop button-dnd-dots.png to move items.
      • Click on button-burger.png to edit, duplicate or delete an item.

       Your Mission is ready to be shared:

      Click on Launch and then select how you wish to broadcast the Activity.

      The Activity dashboard is displayed:

    • Once the Mission is launched, the facilitator accesses the interface shown below to view participants' results:

      Burger Menu

      Display a menu enabling you to:

      • Quit the activity (it remains open and participants can connect and explore it).
      • Enable/disable full screen.
      • Enable/disable high-contrast mode.
      • Zoom in/zoom out (applied to the interface).
      • Invite participants to the activity (in Studio).
      • Change the activity by accessing the editing screen in Studio.
      • Download data in CSV format (spreadsheet) showing the results of the activity.
      • Close the activity: this closes it permanently preventing participants from responding to any further questions, although they can view content and results.

      Information

      Allows you to display the date and time at which the Mission was launched.

      Pause

      Freezes all activity on participants' devices.

      Click on the play button to unfreeze devices.

      Stopwatch

      Displays the stopwatch/timer.

      Leaderboard

      Displays a participant leaderboard with the respective scores and the step participants have reached.

      Number of participants

      Displays a list of connected participants. The black bubble shows the number of participants.

      If required, you can delete a participant from the list. His/her contributions to activities will continue to be recorded. S/he can subsequently reconnect.

      Introduction

      Displays the introductory page for the step.

      Results

      Quiz – displays a breakdown of scores question-by-question and the correct answers.

      Survey – displays response statistics.

      Memo – displays pages as well as quiz and survey question results.

      Step thumbnails

      Click to select a Mission step and display its information.

      Access code

      Displays a popup with sign-in details for participants.
