Importing images into Board allows you to illustrate your ideas, documents, and presentations in a clear and professional way. Learn step-by-step how to add an image.
Management and display of imported images (edit of 29/10/2025):
Improved quality : Images are now stored in their original state, without loss, compression, or renaming. You can download the original file at any time.
Improved Display : Images are displayed on the screen in a higher resolution, with less compression, ensuring better readability of text and details.
Definition limitation : If you attempt to import an image larger than 32MP, an error message will be displayed and the import will be canceled.
Import an image into Board
There are several ways to insert an image into Board:
1 - Drag & Drop
Select the image from your computer.
Drag it directly into the Board canvas.
The image will be cascaded onto Board (and no longer added in ideas).
2 - Through the "Add > Image" menu
Click the "Add" button in Board.
Select "Image".
Browse through your files and choose the image you want to upload.
3 - By copy/paste
Copy an image from your computer or a web page.
Paste it directly into Board (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V).
💡 Before uploading an image, make sure that it meets the following criteria:
Maximum resolution : 32 megapixels (MP).
Example: An image of 10,000px x 200px (2MP) is accepted, but an image of 8,000px x 5,000px (40MP) will be rejected.
Maximum size :
50 MB for PRO accounts
5 MB for FREE accounts
Accepted formats : PNG, JPEG, GIF, and now .webp
