TL;DR:
You can add images to a Board by drag & drop, toolbar upload, or copy/paste. Images stay in original quality with no compression, can be downloaded anytime, and support PNG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP plus HEIC/HEIF. Limits: max 32 MP, and file size up to 100 MB for PRO or 5 MB for FREE. Overview
You can add images to your Board to illustrate ideas, documents, and presentations. Images are now stored in their original quality, so you can display and download them without loss or extra compression.
Image Quality and Limits
- Images are stored in their original state (no compression, no renaming).
- Images display in higher resolution for better readability.
- You can download the original file at any time.

Maximum resolution: 32 megapixels (MP)
- Example: 10,000 × 200 px (2 MP) is accepted.
- Example: 8,000 × 5,000 px (40 MP) is rejected.

Maximum file size:
- 100 MB for PRO accounts
- 5 MB for FREE accounts
- Accepted formats: PNG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP
Note
If you try to import an image larger than 32 MP, you’ll see an error message and the import will be canceled.
How to Import an Image Into a Board
By Drag & Drop
- On your computer, select the image file you want to add.
- Drag the file directly onto the Board canvas.

Drop it on the Board.
The image appears as an image object on the Board (not inside an idea).
From the Toolbar
- Open your Board.
- Click the three-dot menu 1 in the Board toolbar.
- Select Image 2 from the menu.
- Browse your files and select the image you want to upload.

Confirm the Upload.
Paste Images From Web Tools
- Copy an image from Google Slides, Google Docs, Gmail, or a similar web tool.

Paste it onto the board.
The image appears directly on the Board canvas.
Resize Images
- Select two or more images on the board.
- Click Resize image 1 in the context menu.
- Choose one of the following options to adjust image size 2:
- Match min height: Set all images to the smallest height.
- Match max height: Set all images to the largest height.
- Match min width: Set all images to the smallest width.
- Match max width: Set all images to the largest width.
Note
If the selected images already share the same height or width, the option is unavailable.
Convert Images to Ideas
- Select one or more images.
- Open the context menu and click Convert to sticky note 1.
Klaxoon creates the new idea in fitted format, so the full image stays visible.
Crop and Flip an Image
- Select an image.

Click Crop image 1.
- Adjust the crop area.
- Click Flip vertically or Flip Horizontally 2 to flip the image as required.

Click Save 3 your changes.
- If you want to go back to the original image, click Original 4 in the context menu.
Import Heic and Heif Files
- Import a HEIC or HEIF file to the board.
- Klaxoon imports it as an image.
- Crop, resize, or edit it like any other image.
Note
HEIC and HEIF files appear as images, not as generic files.
Replace Image
You can replace existing images directly from the Board using the image's contextual menu.

Use the sticky note’s contextual menu to replace or remove an existing image.
