In a Klaxoon Mission, the calculation of points follows a precise logic: the Mission is designed above all to inform and evaluate knowledge, and not to establish a strong competition between participants. This has a direct impact on how points are awarded.
1. What makes it possible to decide between the participants
Participants in a Mission are only really separated when they answer different questions from Quiz Alone.
- If two participants answer the same Quiz questions alone but with different results, then their point scores will be distinct.
- It is therefore only via these Quiz questions that we can create a form of competition or differentiated ranking.
👉 In concrete terms, to decide between the participants, you have to create Quiz questions alone, which follow one another in the Mission.
2. Activities that automatically give 100% of the points
In a Mission, certain types of activities automatically give 100% of the points to all participants, regardless of their "performance":
-
SurveyIf you insert a Survey into your Mission, all participants will earn 100% of the points associated with that activity. There is no notion of a right/wrong answer: the objective is to collect opinions or feelings, not to evaluate knowledge.
-
MemoIf you add a Memo, again, all participants get 100% of the points. The Memo is used to disseminate information (content, explanations, teaching materials) rather than to test knowledge.
👉 In summary: Survey = 100% of the points for everyone,
Memo = 100% of the points for everyone.
Memo = 100% of the points for everyone.
These activities do not allow the participants to decide between themselves.
3. How do you still create competition in a Mission?
Even though the Mission was not originally designed for competition, it is possible to modify the structure to introduce a competitive dimension.
Use Quizzes Alone for Scoring
To differentiate the scores, you need to:
- Create one or more steps that contain only Quiz questions (Quiz Only).
- Chain several questions together in order to vary the scores according to the answers.
Like what:
Step 1: 5 Quiz Questions
Correct/incorrect answers will vary the percentage of points obtained by each participant.
Step 1: 5 Quiz Questions
Correct/incorrect answers will vary the percentage of points obtained by each participant.
Use a Memo to Explain Answers
Then, you can:
- Create a next step with a multi-page Memo to explain the answers to previous Quiz questions.
Like what:
Step 2: A Memo with 5 pages, each detailing the correct answer and an explanation for each question in Step 1.
Step 2: A Memo with 5 pages, each detailing the correct answer and an explanation for each question in Step 1.
Thus, you combine:
- Competition (via the Quiz only questions that vary the scores),
- Pedagogy (via the Memo which explains the answers and consolidates knowledge).
If you want to introduce more competition, it is possible, but by organizing your Missions around Quizzes alone, and using Polls/Memos mainly as information or feedback supports, not as scoring levers.
