Overview
You can add links to online documents and pages directly on your Board and open them without leaving it. This helps you keep context while you view or edit content from tools like Wrike, Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365.
How to Insert a Link From Your Board
- Open your Board.
- Click the three-dot menu 1 in the toolbar.

Click the Link icon 2 from the menu.
- Type or paste the URL you want to add 3.

Click Insert 4.
💡 You can also copy and paste a URL directly onto your Board to create a linked idea.
How to Get the Link From Other Tools
From Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides
- Open your document.

Copy the URL from the browser address bar 1.
OR
Click Share 2 and copy the share link 3 from the dialog box.
From a Wrike platform
- Open Wrike.
- Go to the space, folder, project, or task you want to share.

Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.
From Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Open your document in Microsoft 365.
- Click the Share button 1.

Click Copy Link from the drop down menu.
OR
Select Share and copy the sharing URL 2 from the share dialog. -
Paste this sharing URL into your Board.
Note:
You must use the sharing URL, not the browser URL. The browser URL will not work when you try to open the document from an idea on your Board.
How to Open a Link From Your Board
- On your Board, locate the idea that contains the link 1.

Double-click the idea,
OR
Open the idea menu and select Open the link in Board 2 from the sticky toolbar.
How to View and Edit the Linked Document
When you open the link in the Board, the document appears in a window on top of your Board.
From this window, you can:
- View the document
- Edit the document (if your permissions allow it)
- Open it in a new tab
- Switch to full screen

Close the window to return to your Board
