What You Can Do with Klaxoon MCP
Overview
Klaxoon MCP lets you connect an AI assistant to your Klaxoon Boards from any Model Context Protocol (MCP)-compatible client. With it, your assistant can read board content, help organize it, and update it, based on your Klaxoon permissions.
Klaxoon MCP’s goal is simple: help you stay in flow in your assistant or IDE while your boards stay the place where collaboration happens.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- An MCP-compatible client, such as Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Cursor, or another tool that supports MCP
- A Klaxoon account
- Access to the Boards you want to use
What Klaxoon MCP Is
Klaxoon exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so your AI assistant can work with your Boards without constant copy-and-paste.
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets assistants call tools in a consistent way. In practice, this means your assistant can:
- Read what’s on your boards
- Create content on your boards
- Update board content when your permissions allow it
What You Can Do with Klaxoon MCP
You can use Klaxoon MCP to:
-
Extract structured output from board content
Turn board content into task lists, action items, or summaries you can reuse in email, spreadsheets, Jira, Wrike, or other tools. -
Prepare workshops
Start from plain text, an attached file, or context from another MCP server to build sections, frames, prompts, and starter content on a Board before a session. -
Create diagrams
Use instructions, spreadsheets, URLs, Mermaid, or similar inputs to create flows, maps, and other structured visuals on the board. -
Get summaries and board context
Ask for a concise summary of one board or several boards so you can catch up without opening every sticky note. -
Organize content at scale
Group and arrange items by topic, status, priority, assignee, or similar fields. This is especially useful after brainstorming sessions.
How Permissions Work
Your assistant can only act within your Klaxoon permissions.
That means:
- If you can access a board, your assistant can read the content available to you
- If you have permission to update a board, your assistant can create or change content through MCP
- If you do not have permission to edit a board, your assistant cannot edit it through MCP
