Overview

Use fill-in-the-blank questions when you want participants to complete missing words in a sentence or paragraph. You can add the question text, turn selected words into blanks, and choose how answers are graded.

How to Create a Fill-In-The-Blank Quiz Question

1. Open the Quiz creation page.
2. In the Questions 1, select Fill the gaps (the blue icon with three small dots) 2.
3. Click Add 3.

4. Enter your question 4, and click Create 5.

5. In the Question settings 6, enter the full text in the white box, including the words you want participants to find.
6. Select each word 7 you want to hide.

7. Click Convert to gap 8 above the text box.

   The selected words are replaced with blank fields that participants fill in during the quiz.

8. Choose a grading option 9:
   • Strict: Awards points only when the answer matches the hidden word exactly.
   • Partial Credit: Allows small differences in the answer.
9. Click Save 10.

Add media or a description

You can also add extra content to your question.

1. In the Options, add an image or video 11.
2. Enter a description if needed 12.
3. Click Save 13.
