Overview

The New Board experience gives you a smoother, more dynamic, and more intuitive interface. The Classic Board experience will soon be replaced, so this article highlights what changed to help you switch with confidence. You can still temporarily revert to the Classic Board if you need more time to adjust.

Key Changes at a Glance

• New navigation and selection modes
• Faster way to add sticky notes

Simplified Navigation and Selection

Navigation is now split into two clear modes to make moving around the Board feel more natural.

• Navigation mode (hand icon):
  • Click and drag to move around the Board.
  • Click objects to open their context menu.
  • You won’t move objects by mistake in this mode.
• Selection mode (arrow icon):
  • Select and move unlocked objects.
  • Use this mode when you need to rearrange items on the Board.
• Automatic switch:

  • When you add a new object, Selection mode turns on automatically so you can move or edit it right away.

    

Faster Way to Add Sticky Notes

Adding content is redesigned to be quicker and more consistent.

• New add button:
  • Use the sticky notes icon (a stack of colored sticky notes) in the bottom-left corner to add a new sticky note.
  • The old + button is removed.
• Updated wording:
  • In English, Idea is now called Sticky note for clarity.
• Instant color access:
  • Open the color palette right away when you create a sticky note.

  • The Board remembers the last color you used and applies it to your next sticky note.

    

Updated Session Tools and Interactions

Tools for running workshops and presentations are reorganized so they’re easier to find and use.

• Participant management:
  • The header shows only participants who are currently online, in alphabetical order.
  • Click the participant area to open the full list of online and offline participants.
• Presentation mode:
  • The Present button is now in the top-right corner.
  • While you present, interaction buttons are hidden to keep the audience focused on your content.
• Interact menu:
  • The former Questions icon is now Interact.
  • Interact groups questions, dot voting, and the timer into one dedicated submenu.

Centralized Settings

Settings are now grouped in one place so you don’t have to search across the interface.

• Board details at a glance:
  • Hover over Settings in the top-right corner to see the Board owner, creation date, network, and other key details.
• Single settings menu:
  • All options are now in one menu, including:
    • Personal settings
    • Mini-Board
    • Export
    • Background colors
• Renamed fields:
  • The previous Dimensions fields are now called Additional fields to be more explicit.
