Overview
We’ve added a set of improvements to make the New Board Experience smoother and more flexible.
You can fine-tune snap options, use right-click actions, spot locked objects faster, search more content on Board, and customize your bottom toolbar.
Snap Options
You can control snapping to the grid and snapping to objects independently. You can also show the grid without snapping to it.
What you can do

Select the Grid type
- Turn Snap to grid on or off

Turn Snap to objects on or off
- Show the grid while snapping only to objects
- Hide the grid while still snapping to objects or the grid
Right-Click Menu on Board
You can use right-click on Board to create sticky notes and comments faster.
Create sticky notes or comments with right-click
- Open your Board.
- Right-click an empty area on the Board.

From the context menu, select Add a sticky note or Add a comment 1.

Type your text, then press Enter or click outside the sticky note to save it, or click the Comment 2 button to add a comment.
Locked Objects
Locked objects are easier to recognize and unlock. When an object is locked, an explicit Unlock control appears.
Unlock a locked object
- Click the locked object on your Board.

Click the Unlock 1 button that appears on the contextual toolbar.
This makes it clearer which objects are locked and how to unlock them.
Search on Board
Search on Board covers more content types, so it’s easier to find what you need in large boards.
What Search Includes
- Shapes’ text
- Text objects
- Connectors’ text
- Image legends/captions
- Stickies
- Question titles
- Table
- Zones
Use Search on Board
- Open your Board.
- Open the Search 1 tool by pressing Ctrl + F (or Cmd + F on macOS), or by selecting it from the submenu in the upper-left corner.
- Type your keyword.

Browse the highlighted results 2 on the Board.
Click the filter icon in the search bar to narrow your results. You can also filter sticky notes on the board by color to see how many are available. In the results list, click a result to center it on the board.
Customizable Toolbar
You can customize which tools appear in the bottom toolbar using a new More tools submenu and a pin mechanism. Tools used from More tools also appear temporarily at the end of the toolbar.
Pin tools to the bottom toolbar

On the bottom toolbar, open the More tools 1 submenu.
- Select a tool and click on the Pin 2 icon to add it to the main toolbar.

The new tool appears in the main toolbar and in the Pinned section in the sidebar 3.
Note: You can reorder pinned tools in the Pinned section by dragging and dropping them.
- To unpin a tool, open More tools again and go to the Pinned section in the sidebar.

Click the Unpin 4 icon to remove it from the main toolbar.
Use Tools From More Tools
When you select a tool from More tools, it appears temporarily at the end of the toolbar so you can keep using it without reopening the submenu. If the tool isn’t pinned, it’s removed from the toolbar when you reload the page.
