Overview
In a Klaxoon Mission, points are designed to support learning and knowledge checks, not strong competition between participants. In most cases, participants earn the same points unless you use Quiz-only steps.
What Affects Participant Scores
Participants’ scores differ only when they answer Quiz-only questions and get different results.
If two participants complete the same Quiz questions with different answers, their scores will be different. If a Mission includes only activities that automatically award full points, participants will end with the same score.
Use Quiz-only steps if you want to create a ranked result.
Activities That Award Full Points
Some Mission activities automatically give all participants 100% of the points.
Survey
A Survey always gives every participant 100% of the points for that activity.
Use Surveys to collect feedback, opinions, or sentiment, not to test knowledge.
Memo
A Memo also gives every participant 100% of the points for that activity.
Use Memos to share information, explanations, or learning content.
Note: Surveys and Memos do not create score differences between participants.
Add Competition to a Mission
If you want to make a Mission more competitive, build it around Quiz-only steps.
Step 1: Add Quiz-only questions
Create a step that contains only Quiz questions.
For example:
- Step 1: 5 Quiz questions
Participants’ scores will vary based on how many correct answers they give.
Step 2: Add a Memo to explain answers
After the Quiz step, add a Memo to review the correct answers.
For example:
- Step 2: A 5-page Memo
- Each page explains one answer from the Quiz step
This setup helps you do both:
- Create score differences with Quiz questions
- Reinforce learning with a Memo
Best Practice
If you want stronger competition in a Mission:
- Use Quiz-only steps for scoring
- Use Surveys for feedback
- Use Memos for explanations and learning support
