TL;DR
Use the Board Insert modal to add and organize content on your boards in one place. From the three-dot menu, you can:
- Insert: Add images, icons, shapes, patterns, templates, zones, links, iFrames, and interactive activities.
- Convert: Turn boards and activities into PDFs, or clean up sketches with Sketch.
- Import: Bring in files, CSV data, and Jira items so you can centralize work and keep collaboration visual and interactive.

Overview
Insert
The Insert modal lets you add different components to your board, including images, icons, shapes, patterns, templates, zones, links, iFrame code, and activities.
- Select the three-dot menu 1.
- Select the desired option under Insert 2.
Image
The Image option lets you add visuals to your board to illustrate your ideas. You can upload images from your computer or drag and drop files directly into the workspace.
Icons
Icons are graphic elements you can use to highlight ideas or categorize information at a glance. You can choose from a wide range of icons available in the libraries.
Shapes
Shapes, such as rectangles, circles, and arrows, help you organize content, build diagrams, and structure information on a board. You can customize shapes with different colors and sizes.

Connector
The connector tool lets you link different shapes and ideas on the board. You can customize a connector by double-clicking it.
Patterns
Patterns are graphic backgrounds you can use to add depth to your board and better structure your workspace. They improve readability and help you organize content visually.
Templates
Templates are ready-made layouts that help you quickly set up collaborative activities such as brainstorming, planning, and retrospectives. They save you time and give your sessions a clear structure.
Tip: Use a SWOT matrix template to run a strategic analysis with your team.
Zone
The Zone option lets you create dedicated spaces on your board to organize ideas and structure content. A zone can contain multiple items and you can move it easily.
Link
The Link option lets you add hyperlinks to external resources, such as documents, websites, and videos. It helps people quickly access extra information directly from the board.
iFrame Code
The iFrame option lets you embed interactive content from other platforms, such as videos, forms, and interactive maps. It enriches the experience by bringing external resources directly into Klaxoon.

Activities
The Activities option lets you add Klaxoon interactive activities, such as quizzes, polls, and adventures, directly to a board. It helps increase participant engagement and makes collaborative sessions more dynamic.
Convert
- Select the three-dot menu 1.
- Select the desired option under Convert 2.
The PDF option lets you convert a board or activity into a PDF so you can export, archive, or share it with people outside Klaxoon. It’s a simple way to keep a record of your work and share ideas in a format everyone can open.
Sketch
The Sketch option lets you turn an idea, drawing, or diagram on the board into a clearer, more readable visual element. It helps you format freehand sketches and give them a more polished look.

Import
- Select the three-dot menu 1.
- Select the desired option under Import 2.
Files
The Files option lets you import different file types, such as images, PDFs, presentations, and spreadsheets, directly into Klaxoon. It helps you share information and keep important resources in one place on the same board.
CSV
The CSV option lets you import tabular data into Klaxoon. It’s useful for structured lists or information from other tools such as CRMs, databases, and spreadsheets.
After you import your data, you can organize it visually with shapes, colors, and links to make it easier to understand.
Jira
The Jira integration lets you import tasks, tickets, and projects directly from Jira into Klaxoon. It helps teams collaborate by combining Jira’s agile planning with Klaxoon’s visual, interactive boards.
