Overview

If participants can’t move ideas on a Board, it’s usually due to interaction or participant settings. You can adjust these settings so everyone can move their own ideas, and, if needed, act on others’ content as well.

How to Check Participant Settings as the Board Owner?

1. Open your Board.
2. Click the caret icon 1 next to the Board name at the top-left.

3. Go to Board settings and select Participant permissions 2 from the dropdown.

   

4. In Participant settings, under Creation, modify & move, make sure Free 3 is selected.

5. Choose what participants can act on by turning the toggles on or off for 4:

   • Locked items
   • Drawings, images, shapes
   • Sticky notes, questions and comments of others.

   

These settings control whether participants can move only their own content or also content created by others.

What Should Participants Do if They Still Can’t Move Ideas?

Each participant needs to update their interaction options:

1. On the Board, click the Interaction options arrow 1 in the toolbar.
2. Turn on the toggle for Sticky notes and questions 2 to move or act on them.

3. If the Board owner allowed it in participant permissions, you can also choose to act on drawings, images, shapes, and ideas created by others.
