Overview
Connectors are powerful tools that help you organize sticky notes on your Board by visually linking shapes and items. In this article, you’ll learn how to create connectors between sticky notes, customize their style and text, and adjust their shape and position to fit your layout.
How to Connect Items on Your Board
- Select the first item you want to connect.
- Hover over the item and click one of the white circles that appear in the blue box surrounding it.
- Drag the connector line to the second item you want to link.
- Release to complete the connection.
How to Customize the Connector’s Appearance
Once you've created a connector, you can adjust its style to match your Board's design. Select the connector to access the following options:
- Trait type: Choose between a solid line, dashes, or dots to vary the appearance of your link.
- Thickness: Adjust how thick or thin the line appears.
- Opacity: Change how transparent or opaque the connector is.
- Color: Apply a color of your choice that matches the rest of your Board.
How to Add Text to a Connector
To add more context to your link, you can add text to it.
- Double-click on the connector.
- Type your text in the text box that appears 1.
- Click outside the text box to save.
How to Change the Type and Shape of the Link
Different types of links are available to adapt to your needs:
- Link Type: Choose a simple line (straight or curved) or add arrows to indicate direction or cause-and-effect relationships.
- Link shape: Change the general shape of the connector. Select from a straight line, gentle curve, or right angle depending on how your items are arranged.
How to Move and Deform Connectors
Once created, connectors remain fully adjustable:
- Move: Click and drag the connector to reposition it wherever you want it on the Board.
- Deform: Select the connector to reveal anchor points. Drag these points to change the curvature or length of the link so you can perfectly fit your arrangement of sticky notes.
