TL;DR:
Klaxoon’s stopwatch and timer help facilitators manage time during collaboration sessions. Start a stopwatch or set a countdown timer to control activity length, pause participation, or play a sound when time is up, keeping meetings structured and on track.
Overview
Facilitators can use the stopwatch, timer or break to manage the duration of activities during collaboration sessions. The stopwatch tracks elapsed time, while the timer counts down from a specified duration and break temporarily pauses an activity for participants.
How to Use the Stopwatch
- In the upper-right corner of the facilitator’s screen, click the Interact and manage button 1.
-
Select the Stopwatch option 2.
-
Click Start to start the Stopwatch 3.
The stopwatch starts right away, shows the elapsed time, and appears for participants as well.
The following stopwatch controls are available on the animators side:
- Pause/Continue 4: Pauses or continues the stopwatch.
-
Stop 5: Stop the stopwatch and reset it to 00:00.
How to Use the Timer
- Click the Interact and manage time button 1 in the upper-right corner of the facilitator’s screen.
-
Select the Timer button 2.
- Enter the required duration in minutes:seconds format 3. By default, the timer is set to 5 minutes.
- Select the actions to apply at the end of the timer:
- Pause screen 4: Stops participant interaction and displays a Times up! message on participant screens.
- Play a sound 5: Plays an audible alert.
5. Click the Start 6 button to start the timer.
6. Click Pause 7 to pause the time. Pausing the timer returns the facilitator to edit mode without resetting the remaining time.
7. A Progress bar 8 below the timer visually indicates the remaining time in the countdown.
The timer starts right away, shows the remaining time, and appears for participants as well.
Note
- The stopwatch or timer popup can be moved using drag and drop.
- The stopwatch and timer cannot be used at the same time.
- Closing the popup stops the active stopwatch or timer.
How to Use Break
Break allows facilitators to temporarily hold an activity for participants.
- Click the Interact and manage time button 1 in the upper-right corner of the facilitator’s screen.
-
Select the Break button 2.
During a break:
- Participants see a break screen indicating that the activity is temporarily paused.
- Facilitators can relaunch the activity when they are ready to continue.
