Overview

The template library provides ready-to-use templates to help you quickly create activities. You can browse, preview, and use templates based on your needs and activity type.

How to Access the Template Library

When creating a new board:

1. Click +New in the sidebar 1.
2. Select Board 2.
3. Click the Template library to view all templates 3.
4. Browse the templates from the Template library.
   

OR

1. Click Template library 1 in the sidebar.
2. Browse the templates from the Template library.
   
    

For an existing Board:

1. Click the three-dot menu on the toolbar at the bottom of your board 1.
2. Click Templates to view all templates 2.
3. Browse the templates from the Template library.
   

How to Find the Right Template

• Browse categories
  • Recommended: A selection of templates recommended for you.
  • Shared with me: Templates that have been shared with you.
  • Created by me: Only the templates created by you.
  • My favorites: Templates marked as favorites to access them quickly here.
  • Use cases: Public templates organized by use case.
    
• Use search and filters
  • Search 1: The search bar to find a template by keyword.
  • Filters 2: The Filters icon (only when the Template library is opened from your Klaxoon account in the sidebar) to filter results by activity type.
    Note: Templates labeled Pro are only available to Pro users.

How to Use a Template

1. Hover over a template.
2. Choose one of the following actions:

• Use: Create an activity from the template.
• Preview: View the template without creating an activity.
  

The behavior of Use depends on where you opened the library:

• From a Board: The template is inserted into the current Board.
• From your Klaxoon account or the New menu: A new activity is created from this template.

How Template Settings Work When Inserting a Template

When you insert a template into a Board, both the content and its associated settings are applied to the board. This helps the template work properly and creates a more consistent experience.

• Default/New boards: If your target Board is in its default state or is created from the template, the template’s settings are automatically applied along with its content.
• Boards with existing settings: If a board already has custom settings, you'll be asked how you want to proceed:
  • “Keep” your current Board settings, or
  • “Replace” them with the template’s settings.

To apply a template with settings:

1. Click Use from the template library 1.
   
2. Select how you want to handle Board settings:
   • Keep my current board settings 2.
   • Use recommended template settings 3.
3. Click Insert template 4 to apply the template.
   This gives you full control over how templates are applied, while preserving your existing setup when needed.   

Access Depending on User Type

• If you are a Free user
  • You can see and preview all templates (Free and Pro).
  • You can only use the templates included in your plan.
  • For templates reserved for Pro users, the action button shows Upgrade to Pro instead of Use.
• If you are a Pro user
  • View, preview, and use all templates.

How to Customize and Launch an Activity

1. Click Use on a template 1.
2. In the pop-up window:

• Edit the activity title 2.
• Change the visual or cover image 3.

3. Click Create to create the activity 4.
