TL;DR
Understand how custom themes work across Missions and Adventures, image formatting requirements, desktop vs. mobile display behavior, and how to share custom themes across your team.
Overview
Theme customization is available for both Missions and Adventures.
- Pro Feature: Custom theme settings are exclusively available to Klaxoon PRO users.
- Live Preview: As you select or upload background colors, images, path colors, or logos, the live preview dynamically updates on-screen to give you an instant look at your changes before publishing.
Image Formatting & Display Guidelines
-
File Format & Transparency
- PNG: Supports transparency. Any transparent areas in your PNG will allow the chosen background color to show through.
- JPEG: Does not support transparency. JPEGs will fully cover the background area without showing any underlying color.
-
Desktop vs. Mobile Responsiveness
- Desktop (16:9 Recommended): Optimizing for a 16:9 ratio ensures your entire artwork and UI elements fit comfortably on wide screens.
- Mobile: Images are never stretched or distorted. Instead, the display automatically center-crops to focus on the middle section of your image.
Example Scenario
Background Settings Example:
Imagine you upload a 16:9 landscape image featuring a wind farm with an ÉcoVolt logo anchored in the bottom-right corner:
- Desktop View: The entire 16:9 landscape is visible, showing the full width of the wind farm and solar panels.
- Mobile View: The sides of the image are automatically cropped to fit the portrait screen. The image remains centered, keeping key elements (like the path points and logo) clear and undistorted without stretching.
Sharing Your Custom Theme
Custom themes cannot be exported or saved as standalone theme files. To share or reuse a customized theme, use the following options:
- Sharing with Teams: Create a template of your Mission or Adventure activity. When team members use your activity template, the custom theme settings are preserved and shared.
- Replicating Across Activities: If you want to use the exact same custom theme from an Adventure on a Mission (or vice-versa), manually apply the same color hex codes, images, and logos across both activity settings.
